Measurement Guide

Proper measurements are the most reliable way to help ensure your order can be delivered as planned. Customers are responsible for confirming that purchased items and their packaging can safely pass through all access points and fit into the intended space prior to delivery.

For detailed guidance on how to measure doorways, hallways, staircases, and placement areas, please refer to our Delivery Delivery Measurement Guide.

Careful measurement helps prevent delivery complications, delays, or additional charges associated with failed delivery attempts or returns.

1. Confirm the Access Route

Every doorway, hallway, and transition point between the exterior of the residence and the intended room must accommodate both the product and its packaging.

Please measure:

The width and height of all exterior and interior doors

Hallway widths, including narrow passages and sharp turns

Staircase dimensions, including railings, landings, and overhead clearance

Elevator door openings and interior cabin dimensions

Ceiling features such as beams, low fixtures, fans, or sloped ceilings

Rule of thumb:
The narrowest point along the delivery route should exceed the packaged item’s smallest dimension by approximately 5–8 cm (2–3 inches) to allow safe maneuvering.

2. Review the Placement Area

Before ordering, confirm that the intended placement space can comfortably accommodate the item once delivered.

Consider measuring:

Overall room dimensions and ceiling height

Walking clearance around the item (recommended minimum: 30 in / 76 cm)

Locations of windows, vents, outlets, and switches

Clearance required for drawers, cabinet doors, or swivel mechanisms

For Lighting Installations
Measure ceiling height to confirm fixture proportions

Dining or island pendants typically hang 76–91 cm (30–36 in) above the surface

Ensure adequate headroom in entryways and walkways

3. Review Product Specifications Carefully

Before finalizing your purchase, review:

Height, width, and depth of the item

Packaging dimensions and weight

Adjustable chain or rod lengths (for lighting)

Whether the item ships assembled or requires assembly

If multiple cartons are included, ensure each individual carton can pass through all access points.

4. Identify Common Trouble Spots

Delivery challenges often occur at:

Tight hallway corners or stair turns

Low or angled ceilings

Structural pillars or railings

Narrow elevator doors or shallow cabins

Overhead fixtures that restrict vertical clearance

Identifying these in advance helps avoid delivery interruptions.

5. Prepare the Space Before Delivery

To support a smooth delivery process:

Clear pathways of rugs, furniture, and personal items

Move fragile décor away from delivery routes

Secure pets away from the work area

Ensure the placement location is fully accessible

6. Need Help? We’re Here

If any measurements are close or uncertain, our support team can assist. You may share measurements, photos, or sketches of your access route, and we can help assess delivery feasibility before shipment.

7. Why Accurate Measurements Matter

Confirming measurements in advance helps prevent:

Failed or incomplete delivery attempts

Additional re-delivery or return-related charges

Delays in receiving your furniture or lighting

Delivery issues resulting from insufficient access or inaccurate measurements are not considered product defects and are handled in accordance with Carrowenw’s Shipping and Return policies.

Planning ahead ensures a smooth and predictable delivery experience from order to placement.
